A family of trees

Because I keep alluding to projects that you have seen next to nothing from, have some chilluns:

This has been a fun style to draw in. It's easier to be expressive with such simplified characters. I can't wait to show you more!

I do so love drawing children. And old people. And trees. (Someday, I will come out with a massive graphic novel that is just grandparents and grandchildren playing in the forest. Get excited! xD)

Also! I forgot to list the original line art for the Batgirl and Let Me Go illustrations on Comic Art Fans, so now those are available here.

I believed in you

EDIT: The Portland Opera has uploaded many artists' work here.

EDIT: Also check out Erika Moen, Ron Chan, Cat Farris, Colleen Coover, and Mike Russell's work from that night!

Last night, the Portland Opera treated 20 comic artists to a really special evening: seeing the opera's dress rehearsal productions of Pagliacci and Carmina Burana at the Keller Auditorium for free. All we had to do was make some comics/drawings to remember the night by! I'll do that any day. The show was awesome. If you live in Portland, go to one of the four performances this week and next!!!!

I wanna fly away

Green Lantern commission:

Such a great character design. Same with Green Arrow. I love it when a character can both look cool and be easy to draw. :P

Yesterday, I showed my roommate Hannah the Green Arrow commission.
Me: "I don't draw men that often...but that looks man-like, right?"
Hannah: "I didn't realize until right now, but you really don't draw men, do you? Like, never."
Me: "I really don't. I'm trying this new thing where I draw both genders."

How I miss your ranting

Have you heard? I'm writing a novel on making comics!

I like to answer those things properly, but it takes so long...! I should have been drawing! @___@ I did cook lunch and dinner today, though. I was proud of that.

Let me go and I will want you

Fan art? I think? For my current favorite Cake song, Let Me Go. I basically just sat down listening to it on repeat and drew what came to mind. I think that the girl the song describes would dance in an arm-swingy, head-tossy way that makes it hard to get close to her.

Why does this rain pour down? I'm gonna drown

Fan art from La QuĂȘte de l'oiseau du temps for Raffi, who has been a fantastic patron of my online store:

Thanks, Raffi! :D
